While trying save a drawing in the Save In window, I get a blank window, ACAD freezes and I receive the following error message:

Exception in AcBlock.arx ARX Command
Unhandled Exception C0000005 (Access Violation Writing Ox5391e3a8) at address 5A4CF48h

I am running ACAD 2000i on Windows 2000 Pro. Any ideas?

Hi "jcoady"

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Management - General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=119) forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

Hi

Unlikely, but see if the following offers any clues...

ID: TS66577 - Error when choosing Browse in Insert dialog box: Unhandled Exception C0000005h (Access violation reading ... (http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS66577)

Have a good one, Mike

Thanks, Mike. But, as you suspected, the link did not help.

I only received the AcBlock.arx error message once. Since then it has been mainly variants of the following messages:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Exception c0000005 (Access Violation Writing Ox5391e3a at address 5A4CF48h

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x******** Exception at f2cad0h

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x******** Exception at 6*******h

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled c00000**h Exception at ******h

I have tried the following fixes:

uninstalled Zone Alarm
uninstalled Norton AV 2005
uninstalled ACAD 2000i
cleaned the registry with ccCleaner

When I reinstalled and upgraded ACAD 2000i the problem remained, so NAV was put back on. I realize (from Google searches) that this is a common problem, but the fix does not seem to be readily available. Any ideas, anyone?
