View Full Version : Structural framing not visible on 2nd floor

I have a metal building rigid frame family with columns about 25 feet tall, hosted by my lowest ground level (1st floor). Up on my 2nd floor level, 12 feet above the 1st floor, the columns of the rigid frame are not visible wherever they intersect a floor slab. I have all the geometry in the family set to visible in both plan and when cut in plan. In 3D I can clearly see the column coming up through the 2nd floor slab.

If I join the rigid frame family to the floor slab, then suddenly it becomes visible in the 2nd floor plan as it should. Any idea why it's behaving this way?

*edit* there are also dashed model lines along the bottom of the rigid frame family, which in my case is set to 8" below the floor slab. For some reason these are not visible in any of my 1st floor plans, but these dashed lines are all visible in my 2nd floor plans, except where obscured by floors. The view bottom and view depth are both set to the associated 2nd floor level with 0 offset, so I don't see why these model lines that are way down below the 1st floor slab would be visible in my 2nd floor plans but not in the 1st floor plans.

confusing! :banghead:
