Can I Copy a Solid and use it as a Void?

Alright, I might be doing this wrong. I have a cone shaped solid on an angle and I want to cut out the inside of the soid cone shape with a copy of the solid cone shape by just copying it and changing it to a void. This does not seem to work for me, I am getting a void, and the void IS cutting through the solid, but when I try to finish the solid, it says that the void is not cutting through and its a darker colour then the other voids.

Can anybody help me? (if that made any sense)

When you copy the solid to create the void you have to manually cut the void from the solid using the cut geometry tool.
