my 42" high wall that lies underneath my counter is showing and blocking my surface pattern i use for my ceiling. is there a way so it knows that the wall is not full height?

thanks for any help

The 42" wall should not be showing unless your cut plane is lower than the counter top - in which case you should also see the countertop...Check in a 3d view and see if the wall is taller than you think or the base is offset. (turn the ceilings off in the 3d view so you can see the wall).

A. What is the cut plane of your ceiling plan?

B. What are the top and bottom constraints of the wall?

If you are using RVT9.1 and if your wall has a negative top offset (for eg. floor to floor is 10' and your wall top offset is 6' below the upper floor) then Revit erroneously shows this wall in the RCP.
RVT 2008 does not.

I agree with AaronRumple. My initial thought is that your problem lies in the View Range settings. I'd play with those to get the desired result...
