Error when zooming = locked up???

Both yesterday and today I got that window error when zooming, that one that happens sometimes when you have lots of views open and you're closing them one by one, the one that says the window will be closed. Only problem is when I hit OK, the drawing area just goes white and it sits there. I have to kill the program. In both cases I lost over an hour of work since my last STC.

Anyone else ever experience this? This is the first real stability issue I've come across in 2008. The project file is only about 10MB or so.

Hi! You might want to try toggling your OpenGL (graphics acceleration) off if it is on..
Sometimes this improves performance on some systems.


Another issue is virus scanning...!! This always causes my system to hang..

We have had this problem as well.

On PCs with NVidia cards the problem was solved when we updated the drivers to latest release. (Mostly Quadra FX cards)

On PCs with ATI cards we had to turn off the Open GL switch in the options menu. (Mostly X800 cards)

Typically we leave "Use Open GL" and "Use Overlays..." on.

We did submit it to Autodesk for a support request which is still pending.
