View Full Version : Offsetting Sloped Railing?

I've searched everywhere through the forums and have yet to find an answer.
So hopefully someone can help me....

My problem is I have a railing which is hosted to a sloped floor and I want the railing to be offset from the floor 2'-0", but the option for offsetting is greyed out.
I have rails hosted to a flat floor also and I have no problem offsetting these railings.
Can you not offset rails that are hosted to a slope??

I've seen a work-around for something else that might work in this case:
create a thin floor @ the desired height and host to that, but is this my best option?

Create another railing type and offset the component 2'

I meant offset from base. The option to do that was greyed out when the rail was hosted to a sloped floor.
Although I think I found a way that gets what I need. There is a half-wall below the offset railing and instead of using "offset from base" I have just offset the rails in the railing type under railing structure and since the wall is there it hides the post below.
Thanks for your response though!
