Hi all,
I have a problem with shadows in a model (ACAD 2007), when they are turned on I am getting black spots appearing.
Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of these I think they are very dark shadows but I do not know where some of them are comming from?
I also rendered a movie and the "shadows" seem to come and go depending on the frame.
Please find below an example render
Thanks In advance

Hmmm..I still don't have any idea, but i think it's about the render preset...

The thing is they are so blocky.
I have gone through every setting and changed it to extremes to see if it had any effect.
Nothing did ged rid of the blobs apart from turning shadows off...
I am going to do some experimenting with a new and simple model to master the new render engine and build up my materials from scratch before trying this again.
By the way, is there any way of importing material librarys built up through 2000 through to 2006 into 2007?

What happens if you render the same file from a machine with a different graphics card or driver?

Good question, I will try that in the next day or so.
I may update the driver and see if that has any effect.
Although,
I thought that the processor did most of the work rendering for a final output renders but the graphics card was used to do real time rendering (when modelling).
(The problem does not appear when modelling)

I'd try copy/pasting into a new DWG file.

If you share the dwg, hope I have time to render that.......

The graphics card has no effect on rendering but (obviously) has a great effect on the display of the rendered output. Rendering on a different machine may help but rendering on your machine to a file and displaying that file on a different machine may also show up a problem with your card.

Cheers For your comments.........
I think it maybe a setting and others are having the same trouble i see in later posts.....
I have had a go with a new machine, 3.2Ghz duel core, 2gig ram + RAID array and up to date Graphics card but the same thing happens......
I am going back to 2006 if I can't get to the bottom of it soon!!!
