Is there somewhere I can find 2d plants and trees?

there are probably lots of sites that have free CAD symbols to use in AutoCAD on the web. I set up a plant family that had an ACAD block visible in the floor plan views. The revit geometry is pretty "scraggly" so the blocks from ACAD were much better looking. I found that scaling was an issue, so it wasn't a perfect workaround.

It is possible that there is a similar family found on this website, or Revitcity.

I'm basicly looking to add a real looking tree and other plants to an elevation, not an actual rendering. I'm just having a hard time finding other sites that have what I need. Revit city had one tree that will work.

ah, I see.

My family also included elevation views of trees, drawn in ACAD, but the results weren't always great. And, they looked like drawings, not realisitic. I relied on work done at a landscape architecture firm where I worked in the past for those elevation views of trees. I suppose they are out there on the web, but I do not know any specific sites.

good luck.

Scott Brown originaly posted this family which I have modified a little bit to have a nice plan view representation this can be used for plan, elevation and 3d representation and also link to accurender tree if you want to render.

2d/3d tree (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=61541)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the credit. Basically I do this with any 2d cad drawing you want to use to spruce up your elevations. just import it into a family(correct category) into both elevation views and set the visibility appropriately and you get some great effects. Now with masking regions you could take this a step further.
