View Full Version : How do you show ceiling and recessed lights in elec plan?

If I raise the cut to show the lights then I do not get the door cuts that are useful for switch locations. Help.

I place my lights in the ceiling plan since you need a ceiling to do that, but my light fixture familys have symbolic representation and/or an annotation in them on the ref. level plane so they show in floor plan.
I've posted an example.

In my residential work, I typically show both the plan info. & the RCP info at the same time.
I simply, align the two views on top of each other on the sheet, using the green alignment lines for placement.
It matters the order you place your views, and sometimes you need to play with visibility, or turn one view of the other to Wire Frame.
Just another approach...

I use the plan regions in my electrical plan for the lighting.
