Does anyone out there have a Metric brickwork hatch pattern that also shows the mortar joints. I cant quite work out the syntax of the files on Rugi etc.

Cheers
Phil

What size bricks?
What bond?
What mortar thickness?
What corner of the brick is the origin?

Phil,

There are quite a few in RevitCity. (http://www.revitcity.com/search.php?action=searchpatterns&name_only=no&non_downloaded=no&pattern_type=&rows=25&keywords=&start=50)

I think the problem I am having is trying to find a Metric brickwork Sized Model Pattern.

The ones on Revitcity and Rugi dont give me 215 x 65mm brickwork with 10mm Joints

or is it me ?

Phil

the attached file is a pat file renamed as a text file to get through the attachment filter (which obviously requires work, adminstrators). Download and rename appropriately and you will have 215 x 65 mm bricks with 10 mm mortar joints.

I made it myself, Phil, rather than grabbed it from stock. Took ten minutes.

Little tip, set it out in excel with column headings as required to remind yourself and then export as a comma delimited text file. This one was just four lines defining the brick and then working out offset. Alternatively draw the basic module in autocad or in a drafting view and then copy it to the relevant location so that you can work out the appropriate values for shift and offset (these terms are defined in the syntax). You can combine both techniques.

Just a thought here following on Damo's request for Terracotta Tile

Peter could a similar Pat File be done for stack bonding with say 225h x 450w with say 50 joints ?

Maybe of some use ~ but I don't know how to go about this myself yet

Further thought ~ depending on how easy to accomplish ~ the same method could be utilised for prefab panels

The stack bond is easy enough to achieve, yes, would the joints really be 50 mm?

I would still favour the curtain wall approach though, you could give an infill panel a stack bond fill.

Just had a crack at this

I would like to introduce a double set of lines to the joints And have more control over line quality but it seems to represent tiling reasonably ~ enough to start prelim layout of window & doors

(NB Introduction of grey line could represent underlying grid structure behind the panel)

Roger,

Like this? The extra 50mm spacing you are looking for is in the offset (5th) value of each line.
