View Full Version : Light fixture sched - total watts?

In my light fixture schedule, I am trying to total the wattages for each fixture type. "Wattage" is a system family and doesn't appear to be a "number" catagory, so it won't total. Am I missing something? The only workaround I've found is to add another field for watts and re-enter the same info.
Thanks.
(Why do this? California Energy calcs for residential require tabulation of all kitchen fixtures with wattages)

Unless you use Revit MEP you will need to add another parameter and calculate that value.

Yep.
Add a calculated value parameter...

Is there any rational explanation why a system parameter, "Wattage", is saved as text?!?
thank you

agreed! "Wattage" seems a mostly useless parameter, the only function I can think of being to write in (as text only) the wattage of lamps used in the fixture one is scheduling. It can't even be used in a calculated value formula because it isn't a number - grrr... I'm about to go add my own parameter to all these families so it can actually be used for something.
