TWO foundation walls?

So I am trying to place a continuous conc. footing below my wall. My wall has brick and it runs below the edge of the slab 16" The metal stud sits on top of the slab. So I drag my brick down and then use Foundation>Wall from the Structural tab. When I do that I get TWO footings. One at the slab height and one a the extended brick height.

How can I get this tool to only model the one at the bottom of the brick?

I have excluded a couple of elements from the image (the thickened edge and the CMU below the thickened edge.)
