I modified one of the section heads with a sheet reference to increase the head circle diameter from 1/2" to 3/4". Now the line that connects the section head to the section tail extends beyond the circle into the section head. How can I make this line stop at the edge of the circle?

Seems like you enlarged the circle from the center. You wanted to enlarge the circle from the side that the line attaches. I would recommend re-editing your Section Head family and moving the circle so the edge is on (if memory serves me right) the intersecting RefPlane indication.

Or move the reference plane to the edge of the circle and lock it to the circle with a dimension.

Take this with a grain of salt, knock on wood and any other superstition you'd care to attribute....but I try very hard to never move the original reference planes in the family templates. They define an "origin" in the family which theoretically can be "anywhere"...but...
It seems that on some occasions that moving them has led to unexpected results when mirroring, or nesting and arraying said families later....
Superstition perhaps...but I'll rub my rabbits foot and leave the reference planes alone just to be safe...:screwy:
(Yeah it could be the result of tweaking a family too and then reloading the family that has now shifted slightly..but it's hard to pin down when you've got a deadline and your plotter isn't working and you just found out you need to mirror the project  )

Instead of modifying one of the existing families, I decided to use one of the family templates to create a section head with a larger circle. The notes for the template state not to move the horizontal and right most reference planes. Therefore, I enlarged the section head circle and moved it so that it aligns with the right most reference plane. This resolved my problem.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
