View Full Version : Cloning a view?

I've been using Revit for a good size mixed use project.

One thing that would make life much easier:

Copy a view and it copies all view property settings including visibility settings as well as all "hide annotation in view" settings as well as all section, grid and level head/tail locations and on/off settings.

These things would save tons of time if they worked as one might expect.

Can someone reassure me that these are on the wishlists.

I think I have seen some or all of this discussed before, but thought I'd take my stab at voting it a high priority.

What's the consensus?

Thanks

Is it possible that you haven't seen "Duplicate with Detailing" yet? Right click on the view name in the Project Browser and you should see it. This should do what you describe. If it does lose some formatting that you desire...set up a view template based on the views you are satisfied with and apply the template to your recently "DwD" views. That what you are after?

DwD I do, but I hadn't seen Save and Apply View Template. Thanks for that.

However, the "hide annotation in view" settings as well as all section, grid and level head/tail locations and on/off settings don't behave themselves when DwD.
