Ok. So I just upgraded to 2008. The problem with troubleshooting my issue is that I've also gotten a new computer (though I'm not complaining about that!). So I've gone to WinXP, different graphics card, and a dual core processor. Of course I also have no other installation of 2008 to compare it yet as I am first in my office ot get it.

Ok, so the problem: The drawing workspace keeps "flashing" repeated over and over. I've tried to change as many setting in both Windows and ACAD that I coudl think of without changing intricate parts of Windows (drivers, etc). I do have th elatest drivers for my graphics card and I am using an LCD monitor.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

What is the refresh rate of your graphics card set to? That could cause a lot of grief. Check the clock and phase setting on your monitor(s). Is AutoCAD the only program affected by the "flashing"?

Yes, it is only AutoCAD. It is not a constant thing either. It only does it when I am using commands or actually doing things in AutoCAD. It is only the actual drawing workspace that does it. The menus, toolbars, etc are fine. It looks almost like a constant regen or something.

Shot in the dark:

Maybe try THIS (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=9838120&linkID=9240817).

Coincidence I have IntelliPoint drivers installed? Although '08 isn't on that list. I'll uninstall them and see what happens. Thanks.

You're welcome.

Let us know if it works...Btw, I never thought of using the word "flicker." I was searching for "blink" and "flash" the whole time. :)

Btw, I never thought of using the word "flicker." I was searching for "blink" and "flash" the whole time. :)

Yeah, flicker sounds more like something a kid would do with a booger.

I'm glad it worked out for you.
