Does anybody have any good suggestions on how to accomplish these two roofs? They are pretty simple, yet they constantly slow me down. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking to solve the parts that I have labeled roof.

I'm not saying I can help.. but any chance you could post a sketch or something that would indicate more clearly what you are trying to achieve.

Maybe it's just me ;) but I can't work out what you are trying to do.

I assume your doing some residential work. The bottom portion of the roof needs to be done as another roof.
To clean up in section use Join Geometry

I got that bottom roof. One of our CAD tech's pointed me in the correct direction. I used a second roof with a hip as mentioned above. I'll post how i resolved the upper roof.

Just a follow up. The top one is accomplished the same way. I created a second roof with a pitch in the front at 12<12 and hips on the sided to match the pitch on the above roof, which in this case was an 8<12

I know that I am late to the party here but I have run into a similar feat once before and it is best to do them as TWO seperate roofs and then use "join geometry"
