Hey all,
I am creating some mechanical equipment in RAC 2008. I have two objects created using the revolved solid option and am not able to place a dimension on the objects. I need to constrain them to each other...any ideas on what I am doing incorrect?
Thanks,
Clyne

add some reference planes in the families and then dimension those.

Thanks Justin,
I have tried adding the ref. plane while I am sketching the revolve, but it is not visible when I sketch the second revolve. Do they need to be nested families?
Thanks!

is it an inplace family? in either case i would add the reference plane during the family edit mode, not the revolve edit mode.
It should show then. if it is in the revolve itself i dont think it would be available to select in a project.

I am creating this in the family editor. I can place reference planes just fine, but am unable to select the revolved solids to constrain the planes to them. I am attaching the file for you to check out if you have time.
Thanks!
Clyne
