Linked filed annotations beyond crop region - Don't want them

Is threre any way to have the annotations of a linked file NOT show up beyond the crop region? Thanks

prepare a specific view in the linked file and assign that view in the host project.

I do have a specific view created, but it covers 2 sheets in the linked file, anyhow I found under the Crop Region Properties in Extents an Annotation Crop box which was unchecked, and when activated creates a green dashed rectangle which crops the annotations! :) I had seen it before but completely forgot all about it :?
