Outside of the office, that is.
We are ready to start working on a couple of projects with an Equipment supplier.
They, obviously, want to place their equipment in our Rooms. However, since this is another company in a different location, they will need to work on a copy of our Project. They can't link it in, because they need to use our Rooms. They need to place their equipment in our actual model.
Copy/Monitor does not work with Rooms.

The only thing I can think of is for them to use a separate Workset, which we would then Cut and Paste into our Model. How do they update their project, though? They can't exactly delete everything EXCEPT their stuff, and having them Cut & Paste into their copy of our model sounds dangerous.

Anybody have any experience with this kind of a work-flow?

If they just linked in your model, they could place equipment inside the "rooms" although the equipment wont know that they are in a room per se.

You get their RVT file back, and you can insert the file as a group, and then ungroup it. Now all the equipement will be in a room inside your model.

Thanks for the quick reply, Scott.

Your technique works for us, but the problem is that the Equipment supplier is the one who needs the Schedules. The core problem is that we own the Rooms, and they own the Equipment families.
