Hello all,
I am working with a drawing from an outside consultant and they have layers in the drawing that came in from a previously "bound" xref file. The only way I can see to get rid of or purge them from the drawing is to use the Express Tool Layer Delete command by selecting each layer as current one at a time and drawing a temporary line so I can select the layer. My question is this, is there an easier way to remove these $ layers from the drawing without drawing the temporary lines and using the laydel command. I appreciate your time on this matter.

Check out the following Submission # EX001151 by Richard Binning on the AUGI Exchange Page -

I tried the LISP from the exchange but I don't think that it worked as planned, I still have a few $2nd$ layers within the drawing, could a lisp maybe fix this, perhaps if the LISP asked for a wildcard string, "$2nd$" for example, then delete the layers??

Hi

The LISP file works perfectly as advertised.

$2nd$ is *not* the default Bind Bind ($0$) option produced by AutoCAD.

You could kindly ask Richard Binning to spend some of his valuable time altering it for your needs.

Have a good one, Mike

Oh, absolutely!! A wonderful routine, however I still had 2nd$0$ layers in the drawing, thank you for the advice.

the layerwalk in the express tools didn't purge the layers?
