Is there ever a simple question?

I have a question for you. Are you trying to make a symbol for wirenumbers or create a symbol that will update the data using the wirenumbers? Trying to understand. It might help to upload a drawing of what you need converted, or a picture.
In any case, there is a hand tool in AutoCAD Electrical called Symbol Builder. The icon looks like a black box. If you have the book (Getting Started manual by Autodesk also available on the hard drive somewhere-ACMACE Lunchpad 4.0.chm), see page 100 Creating Custom Symbols. Or use AutoCAD Electrical Help, Contents-->Autocad Electrical Help-->Symbol Libraries-->Managing library symbols-->Convert or create library symbols, see jpeg.

Hope this was helpful.

Hi RenataP,

thanks for the quick and informative response.

In the meantime I figured out how to convert etc...

My problem is that I use a german ACADE 2007.
The translation of the Getting Started manual is
a bit (for me) confusing.
We normaly do not use wirenumbers.
I worked with EPLAN,RUPLAN,ELCAD but
the philosophy of ACEDE is somewhat different.

So finally thanks again and have a nice weekend,

Charkie

Hey Charkie,

You might appreciate this. Some of my software at work will give me dialog boxes written in German. It has been necessary to create an excel document with the translations handy. I am can recognize about half of them. Yet ever now and then a new one shows up. Our IT guy has no clue to why this happens. If I think about it on Monday, I will add a jpeg to this post to demonstrate. All of our software is in English. Strange...

As a note for others, how did you solve your question? Did you use the Symbol Builder? Another options would be to open an exciting drawing that comes with AutoCAD Electrical and save out the attributes. We do both depending on the block needed. Recently I had to create a power supply with more terminal locations. This was made using both methods. I started out with a copied drawing. Next selected the Symbol Builder icon and windowed all. This brought up a dialog box that keeps track of all the data needed to make this block intelligent.

Thanks for the reply. The whole family hopes to spend the weekend in the pool. It is very warm in Michigan.

Was just rereading your original question.

Are you talking about lines converted to wires, which would then create wire numbers when line numbers are present?

If that is the case, the drawing itself needs to have intelligent line numbers and the lines representing wires to be placed on wire layers. Then you could insert wire numbers.

Are the rectangles representing power flows? If so after the above is completed, you would want to add Source and Destination Signals.

Sorry for not fully understanding your question. I am happy you were able to solve the problem.
