filled region background color

There are only 2 options in setting background of filled region (drafting tools), transparant or opaque. If I want the background is opaque and with a color rather than pure white, how to achieve? Thanks in advance!

Only way I know is to use two fills. Draw one with the base color, duplicate the base fill. Slide the copied fill to the side slightly. Set the base color to be the "background". Change the top fill to the line type fill you want with a transparent background, slide back over original base.

Not the most elegant, but it works. Perhaps there's another way, but I can't look right now.
