I did a few searches and could not find anything about this.

Is there something similar in Revit to AutoCAD Tracking Point Osnap.

IE: You are going to draw a line in ACAD, type in TRA and you can track a distance from a point (or points) to draw the line.

I know Revit gives you dims from points but it doesn't always pick the point of the object that I want the dimension from, it seems to want to dimension from whatever is most convenient for it, not for me. LOL!. I've tried tabbing but that only seems to work for osnaps.

TIA for your help.

Hi Diane, we used to trade emails in the old ADT guild I believe? Welcome...

Short answer no there isn't. In general you place walls loosely and then force them into position via temporary dimensions. Sketch first, refine later...a true architectural "attitude" if you will.

If a dimension isn't focused on the element you want you can reposition them. Take a look at the tutorials covering dimensioning etc. You can also turn on the workplane grid, tools menu > workplane > workplane visibility. You can reposition this grid and change the grid size as well as rotate the grid if necessary. This can make sketching along some notion of conformity a bit easier too.
