Drag Control Locks

Working on Architecture 2008:

I have an enlarged wall section that I broke into two dependent views so I could foreshorten them to fit on the sheet. When I bring in a detail component with drag control attributes the controls appear on the object but are locked so you can't change the detail components length. This appears to be a limitation of dependent view's. Is anyone else experiencing this? I suspect the work around is not to use dependent views but to create two distinctly separate callouts from the buidling section. any other ideas?

Which detail component? I don't find this to be true.

Try the standard GWB or plywood detail components.

I've also discovered that although you can tag a wall or ceiling in the dependent view the moment you try to move it the program crashes.
