Okay, I've placed some callouts on my floorplans to create enlarged floorplans. By default, the callouts were set to Detail View: Detail. But when that happens, my rooms and roomtags are not able to be placed.
So I figured out that they needed to be Floor plan view callouts instead. AFTER I've done all this work on tile patterns and floor patterns, etc....
Being Revit, I thought I could click on the callout and change its properties from a Detail View: Detail to a Floor plan callout.
I was shot down by the program. I thought we had the capability to Revise Instantly in this program - doing something that simple should be exactly that - simple.

Is there any way to accomplish what I'm trying to do without having to recreate everything I've already done?

Thank you in advance for your help!

How's this called - a learning opportunity? These things should be noted down for future use.

I guess you'll be able to recreate everything as a detail view, create and apply view templates from your callouts (to define visibility/graphics, scale etc) and select all, filter for detail items, ctrl-c in your callout and paste-aligned (same place) in your detail views. This is not the answer you're looking for, and I don't know if there's another way to do this, but it's the only thing I can think of.
If that's what it takes, you better start crackin'.

I may be confused..but need to ask..

Is all the work you have done in "drafting form"? like lines, filled regions, etc.? Because if they were in model form, then all the information should be present in the model..not just that view..

so, if they were all "drafting" then it is quite simple to select all the drafting elements (and using the "funnel" tool to seperate the model elements from the drafting elements) and then paste to current to your newly created "Floor Plan Callout".

It may seem that a callout is a callout, but the floor plan callout is actually a duplicated floor plan with additional capabilities...where a detail callout is a special view, not associated with floor plans, and these detail callouts can be viewed as sections as well...

We can't turn a section into a floor plan, or vice versa, so we can't turn a detail callout into a floor plan callout or vice versa.

To understand more about the difference, search in augi, go far back in history and there are really great explanations on the difference....for example, a floor plan callout is always parallel to your levels. A detail callout can be on a diagonal (that's why it can be viewed as a section as well)....

There is a type of a section that really isn't a section, but the same detail callout...all sections are perpendicular to your levels, but a detail section can be any angle...even parallel to your level (that is why you could see it in your floor plan)

I hope I didn't bore you with the extra info...

Take care,
