Has anyone come up with a way to get the area of an elevation, which could then be used in a schedule. eg Used in a bracing schedule to help calculate required resistance.

Any ideas on this would be appreiciated.

You cant. You could use a filled region to manually calculate that area and then include in a schedule.

I guess you could create a wall schedule and filter for specific walls and get their area?

Thanks for the replies, i didnt think it was possible just putting it out there. Ii had thought of just using a filled region, I didnt think i could then get the the area paremeter but i will definetly give that a try.

With Big D's method (I love that one David :-) ) you could put the wall in a separate workset and run some calculations in the schedule.

I sometimes think it would be nice to have a tool like Area Plans that we could use on elevations and sections.
