View Full Version : Visibility parameter dependent attributes problem

Anybody who has created attributes that are invisible/visible within dynamic blocks visibility modes surely has run across this. However I have done extensive searching with no results that I can find. Any help would be great. :)

I have a revision block that is switchable between one line of description text and two lines of text. It switches with the visibility parameter. All attributes were created in the block editor brand new, because i have had problems before getting this to work correctly with pre-existing attribute definitions. There are 3 separate attributes that make each line. If the larger one is on, the smaller double lines of text are off, and vice versa.

This works perfectly with the Edit Attributes dialog box. However, if you are to double click it or edit it with Enhanced Attribute Editor, a huge mess occurs. The "tag" column is correct, and only lists the proper attribute tag names that should be visible. However the "prompt" column is displaying ALL the prompts, including the prompts for tags that are invisible. The result is about every 3-4 lines, the tags and prompt columns become one or two more rows out of alignment.

When it runs out of all the tags on the left column, it just stops the prompt column leaving off whatever remaining prompts are left.

Can anyone help me?

I still have the same problem. Still using AutoCAD 2006.

Further description:

-Create a block with 4 attributes with prompts. For the sake of clarity lets do:
Tag1 - Prompt 1
Tag2 - Prompt 2
Tag3 - Prompt 3
Tag4 - Prompt 4

-Make a visibility state that turns off the second attribute. Turn off the 2nd attribute.

-Using the regular editor, or ATE, it works perfect.
Tag1 - Prompt 1
Tag3 - Prompt 3
Tag4 - Prompt 4

-However if you used Enhanced Attribute Editor or double click the block, you get
Tag1 - Prompt 1
Tag3 - Prompt 2
Tag4 - Prompt 3

is there a fix for this problem yet?

Might wanna search the dynamic blocks forum

Thanks. I'll repost this there.

I've already exhausted searching for the answer. I'm pretty shocked i can't find anything being that it seems like it should have come up by now on other peoples' machines.
