Hi,
I have a drawing with an SHX . I don't know where it came from and I want to get rid of it since it doesn't conform to the clients standards. How do I go about snuffing the little devil? I can't Purge it since its 'in use'. I tried to use Qselect to id the sucker but it doesn't work.
Thanks

It could be used in one of the following places:

Text style, as an SHX font
Linetype, as shape pattern
Shapes in the drawing

You may have to try to get rid of or modify text styles and line types. If you have a drawing with objects that are not linetype-bylayer... you have my sympathies.

Well, I think I fixed it. I created a new drawing and using Shift+ctrl+C I copied the problem drawing piece by piece into it. As I brought each chunk in I exploded it and tried a Purge and checked the Cannot purge. When the Purge showed me the offending line was there I started Erasing the chunk I brought in one piece at a time and saving the file and trying to Purge until I found the one line in the whole #$%&* drawing which when I erased it would allow me to Purge the SHX file. One line buried in the file. I went back to my original file erased the line, replaced it with a new, clean line and Purge and it was GONE.
I tried the SuperPurge but it wouldn't work. Its a lot of work but it was the only way I could remove the sucker.
