Copying detail components

When l am copying/pasting multiple detail components / detail lines from one wall section to another Revit spreads and flips the components / lines out all over the view -even if they are grouped.

Shouldn’t I be able to copy multiple detail components at the same time from one section view to another?

-Am I missing something?

Yeah you are definitely able to copy everything without it placing all over. Are you using copy to clipboard and then pasting it into the desired location?

It's funny because I know the answer but it just comes to me when I'm using Revit. So off the top of my head I can't think of the answer.

Not sure what was happening, but after redrawing the typical wall section components and cutting all new wall sections on the model the copy/paste function seems to be working properly.
