We have worked on a few projects that require us to create packages of work that only show particular trades - ie. concrete, precast, windows, blockwork etc. In creating these packages, many of them have used elevations and sections that we don't necessarily want referenced from our general arrangement set of drawings.
Our solution is to create a design option set named 'Work Packages'. This Option Set doesn't actually contain any model information, but is used only to control the display of section and elevation tags, using the 'visible in option' property of the view tag.
The primary option is named 'Empty' and has nothing associated to it so that nothing unusual shows up in view that show the automatic (primary) option. The second option is, for example, named 'Glazing', and all the sections and elevation that are ossociated to this work package are placed in this option using the 'visible in option' parameter. They now disappear from all the general arrangement drawings and will now only show up in a floor plan, section or elevation that is set to show this option.
All it is basically doing is grouping a bunch of section and elevation tags with the 'visible in option' parameter and controlling their visibility under the Option Set tab of Visibility Grapics for each view.
