View Full Version : Circle to Rectangle Sheet metal transition
I need to unfold a circle to rectangle sheet metal transition. I have read that I can only do this in 2008 by using a many-sided polygon (to look like a circle). Is anyone aware of another way? I have modeled the part but it will not unfold.

Inventor cannot do a true round to square. The reason for this is that the unfolding engine must refernce a flat plane in order to unfold. Since there is no flat surface on the round, there is no surface to build the base plane from.
The zip file posted as the transition given by Autodesk to get as close as you can without getting crazy with facets.
