Does anyone have a link or can anyone tell me how to make a .pat file for a pattern on the face of a wall? Thanks in advance.

Revit City has some pattern files....or you can just import them from your AutoCAD....

You provide the hatch pattern in a text format either for model or drafting modes. You can find a lot of information (the basic anyway) in the help file. Its very similar to creating an autocad pattern, except for the header required to tell Revit whether to use the hatch in model views or drafting views.

By the way -welcome to AUGI. If you still have questions please ask. You can also use the search tab across the top of the screen and use "hatch" or "pat" as the topic. You'll find a lot of information that might be useful to you.

Simple hatch patterns can be specified with a simple text editor such as Notepad - see the comments found at the beginning of the Revit.pat file.

The process of creating more complex patterns is simplified with a graphical hatch pattern editor.
