how to make a plan section?

Maybe this is a very simple question for most of you: how to make a plan section(either looking up or down) to show some detail?

Not sue if this is what you want, but:

View > new > callout

So you want your plan view to look at the ceiling or the floor, but in a 3D view? Or just look at the callout like what was previously mentioned, only in just 2D?

Hey there,
I am assuming that you are not referring to a Floor Plan or RCP......

For presentation type plans, with depth and perspective etc.....
Duplicate your 3D ortho view.
Open Properties and Select "Section Box"
Drag the top of the section box (control blue grip arrows) down until you are cutting it at the desired ht.
Select View>orient> and select "top"

This gets you a 3d plan view which works great for presentation plans with shadows and furniture etc. You can also render this view if you want.

To make it a "perspective plan"....
Simply open a section or elevation, place a camera up above the roof, point it down and Voila!
Perspective plan view.
