Summary: Be able to create a feature pattern that would wrap around a non-planar surface
Description: A pattern feature to enable one to perforate an entire part with evenly spaced holes or other shapes. Ex: A custom formed speaker or microphone grille needs to be rendered and it has to have the actual holes patterned into it, but the patterning feature falls short because it cannot keep the holes equally spaced across the entire surface. The provided 2 directional patterning feature patterns fine on 3 axes until you hit a direction change on any or all axes, then the hole pattern interferes with itself, ruining the desired outcome. A "Pattern Solid" feature would be very welcome to those that CAD speaker, microphone and other oddly formed grilles.
How Used: I would be able to pattern entire soilds with a single mouse click instead of spending hours setting up convoluted patterning runs.
Feature Affinity: Part Modeling
