In Revit, I have a floor slab that cantalevers over the exterior wall and am having a hard time with the exterior wall finish from the floor above wrapping over the external surface of the slab. The first question is do I have to define a material on the external portion of the slab to match the wall above? The second question is how do you remove the line in the elevation views that are representative of the floor slab and wall coming together? I tried aligning the external finish to the bottom of the slab but it didn't change the elevation view.

TIA

Try it this way
Select wall to wrap over slab > Element Properties > Edit > Construction - Structure > Preview - Section > Zoom in at the bottom of the wall > click on bottom line of the Finish Layer > unlock >Close
Go to a Section View cutting the slab and wall > Select wall > drag dawn the external finish of the wall.
About the underside of the slab > One way to deal with that is to create a separate Floor > properties matching with these of the finish layer of the wall.

You need to have a finish material with thickness in your wall type outside the core boundary. then when you create the floor slabs check the extend into core box.

Or you could simply add a slab edge profile to sweep around.

depending on the level of detail you can just paint the material to the slab edge.

I tried this but it still gives a line on the elevations. How do you remove the line?

I tried this as well however; because the wall sits on top of the floor the floor material doesn't wrap as it would with a continuous wall. Any suggestions?

Use the "linework" pen - set to Invisible & just click over any line you want to disappear

Linework tool is great for 'hide' some modelling problems.

I often use it when the pressure of time has upon me and I haven't the time to work out how to get the model to do as I would like. I would suggest that you do come back when you get a chance and investigate why the model does not behave as you would have liked.

You can unlock the finish layer, so that its lower edge can be adjusted independently. Then you cut a little section at each wall and pull the finish down to cover the slab edge, just like it would actually be built. To unlock the finish layer(s) edit the Structure of the wall family, switch the preview to Section, and click the Modify button. Now you can click on the bottom edge of each layer of the wall and unlock it. All the unlocked stuff will move together.

Best,
Gordon

Well, except... this probably stops to work as one would expect when "edit profile" is used, because, then the base distance is used everywhere... One would want it to be controlled individually on each wall profile edited bottom (the one with overhang...).

Or am I missing something?
