As the keyboard manufacturing has progress, the size has become more compact. The letter key relationships have been maintained, but the function keys and the ESC key have moved closer together.

To get to the point: If I can't change the $@#% F1 key to equal the ESC key, I am going to lose my mind!!!

I didn't see any options in the keyboardshortcuts text file.

I am open to suggestions, or just know I am doomed would be a help.

Thanks,

ejc

I found a post on this forum awhile ago about this topic: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=26174. I took the advice of a folded up business card around the F1 key as a kind of guard. I did it and it's worked for me - especially since before I froze up Revit a couple times by accidently going to help and then trying to switch too quickly back into the progam.

Here is an AutoHotKey script that will remap your F1 key to the Esc key. Just make sure it is running when Revit is running. Go here for AutoHotKey (http://www.autohotkey.com)

#IfWinActive, Revit
*F1::
Send, {Esc}

On my MS Natural Ergo keyboard the ESC and F1 are about half an inch apart....no problems there :) I have seen the folded business card/box over the F1 as well.

Excellent - that works perfect.

Thanks for the tip.
