Linked RVT files grids not showing

I have two buildings linked into a Site Plan. I can not get the Grids to appear for each linked building.
Yes they are turn ON. Am I missing something or is the file corrupt.
I can link the buildings into another file and it works OK. In-fact the grids appear on the sections I have cut thru the site

In the Visibility Graphics dialogue, go to "Linked Files" and make sure the check box for the gridlines is ticked against the linked files.

Yep...tried that.....I think there is something the matter with the file.
