View Full Version : Compare Geometry: Two Project Versions?

Good Morning,

I have been using Revit for about two months. The general contrator that I work for has received two versions, dated about 8 months apart, of the same model (project).

How would I compare the geometry between the two? ( new items, substitutions, repositioning, etc) All I seek is a very generalized response - I can figure out the rest.
I am thinking about the actual 3d model itself - not the 2d sheets or drawings.

Thanks in advance,

Riff Masteroff.

I would most probably use the copy/monitor command listed under tools.

A compare model feature has been developed for Revit Structure, but with some hacking you can get it to work with Revit. I haven't yet tried it.

Hello Joef and Elmo

Joef, actually (unsaid by me) I wanted to stay within the Revit toolset. I have already done the comparison, with precision and good categorization in lightwave. The link you provided was definitely informative - tnx.

Elmo, I will "check out" the copy/monitor command.

My overall intention is to stay within Revit and put it through its paces. I do find, however and in general, that to get the most out of 3d anything I am better off using multiple program workflows.
