New user questions for Revit Architecture 2008, Settings, Options, File Locations - for a company with 6-8 users in a networked server environment.

Folder on server: [CompanyName] Content with subfolders below:

[Company Name] Imperial Library (empty now with folder names to match the out of the box Imperial Library)
[CompanyName Imperial Templates (subfolders for Annotation, Family, Project, and Titleblock templates, empty now, but ready for customized templates)
[CompanyName] Rendering (empty, don't know what to put in it)

Another folder on server: Revit 2008 Content with subfolders copied from All Users RAC 2008 folder.

With the [CompanyName] Content folders setup as above, and pathed in File Locations, when you go to open a Family or Detail Components, it's basically "empty" because we have just started and haven't customized any content. Is this typical to go to your company customized content location by default and then navigate at the side using the shortcut to go to the server location for the Revit Imperial Library and Material Components?

And, if we want to start out with Rendering on the network, how do you do that?

Open to any / all suggestions.

Thanks!

And, if we want to start out with Rendering on the network, how do you do that?

Default out of the box Rendering pathing/locations in Settings, Options, Rendering:

AccuRender Resource Location:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\RAC 2008\Rendering\AccuRenderRedist\

Additional Material Rendering Libraries:
C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2008\Data\Materials
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\RAC 2008\Rendering\WebLibrary
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\RAC 2008\Rendering\RPCPeople

If you want to start out with rendering location on the server so that items that users customize or change are accessible to everyone else, what do you change in the path settings above? And, do you copy the server folder "Rendering" that is out of the box over to a new folder [CompanyName] Rendering and basically duplicate it or only some files? And, we want to be able to sort out later what is our customized files versus out of the box.
