I created some detailing in a family in a side view....I'd like to copy the same info to the ref. level view but it copies to the same location in the side view instead. I realize its just copying to the same plane it was copied from, but is there a way to copy it to a different plane?

You could try grouping and then placing the group on the Ref plane and ungrouping?

Try this
In plan view draw a Ref Plan parallel with the Center(Right Left) Ref Plan > Name it "A"
Go to your Side view (Left or Right) > select Symbolic Lines > Copy to Clipboard > Edit Work Plane > "A"
Go to Placement Side > Rotate "A" parallel with Ref Level

Tried that....

Go to your Side view (Left or Right) > select Symbolic Lines > Copy to Clipboard > Edit Work Plane > "A"
Go to Placement Side > Rotate "A" parallel with Ref Level

I will have to try this....

I seem to be able to make this work but I don't know if Revit particularly likes it as it may introduce some instability....

Anyway, if you create a named reference plane parallel to a side view, draw your symbolic (or model) lines in that, then go to a back or front view so that those lines are now viewed end-on, select the lines, choose Rotate and check the Copy option in the tool bar, rotate 90 degrees to make horizontal, the lines are now copied to plan view.

Symbolic lines are supposed to only be viewable parallel to the plane in which they were created and so I don't know why this works for both symbolic and model lines.

Maybe I've missed something, but it does seem to work.
