I am having problems with my 2008 version and my Dell mouse. I can't pan and zoom using my wheel on my mouse. Do any of you know how to fix this problem?

First, make sure your mouse drivers are current.
Set mbuttonpan to 1
If that doesn't work, go into the CAD options. Go to the display tab & deselect the option to display scroll bars.

And make sure your mouse driver has set the wheel to AutoScroll.

How are the two tied together? other than that they both are ways to pan.

Go to SetPoint in the system tray. I know, the mouse settings in the Control Panel are the first place I looked when we got a new Dell last year.
The wheel is set for something other than middle button. You have to goto other and select middle button from the list.
I found the side to side scroll was causing trouble with my double click wheel for zoom extents and changed that to middle button, too.
