Arch columns scheduling?

It seems I can't schedule arch. columns...Why? Any workaround?
I want to use arch. columns instead of struc. columns because I only need some cost estimation for now and the walls are not infuenced by the presence of arch. columns (the area of the walls doesn't change in the schedule).
It is really annoying to have this kind of problems with a program that is supposed to work like a database...

Any workaround is very much appreciated... I just want the volume of the arch. columns to add it to the total concrete volume.

Strange that Architectural columns are not available to link to huh. What I did was create a shared parameter, changed the architectural column family type to generic, added shared parameter and length variable, calculated volume. around the world, but had to (due to my limited knowledge) to get the schedule of values you want. I hope most of the columns are same length. My hack doesn't work with variable heights inside the family.
Hope this gets you at least to a point of estimation.
