DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA HOW TO PROVIDE THE SEARCH OF REQ'D DRG BASED ON SOME KEYWORDS THAT ARE NOT A PART OF THE DRG NAME, RATHER THEY ARE INCLUDED IN TITLE BLOCK
PS: SAME TYPE WE HAVE ADVANCED SEARCH IN M/WORDS: IT MAY BE CARRY OUT BY ANY WORD INSIDE OF A DOCUMENT

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hi

First things first lower-case is soooooo much better, it doesn't give the impression of shouting....

Check out the following links -

DWG Search from DotSoft (http://www.dotsoft.com/dwgsearch.htm)

DWG Browser from DotSoft (http://www.dotsoft.com/dwgbrowser.htm)

Hurricane for AutoCAD (http://www.74mph.com/features.html)

DWG iFilter (http://www.cadcompany.nl/producten/producenten/cadcompany/dwg+ifilter/)

A search on the web will turn-up many more products that will do what you require.

Have you looked at using AutoCAD's Drawing Properties (._DwgProps)

Have a good one, Mike

Go have a look at Docupoint Discovery. We have the older version called DrawingSearcher. It does exactly what you're looking for. Searches through every single string of text in every single drawing you tell it to look in.

2 thumbs up...

Go Try it!
