View Full Version : Structural grid bubbles not hiding when linking

I have two buildings with a separation joint. I started the two buildings in one model. I have to break them in to two separate models for CAD purposes. When I link them the structural grids don't "hide" (see attached pdf's)

I tried using the visibility graphics display settings and using ‘by host view’ but it does not work. I can’t' mask the grids because it will blank out my structure and when I try masking my structure disappears but the grids remain.

Is it even possible to turn the grid bubbles off when linking models?

Has any one had any problems like this that can provide me with some insight?

I would hate to have to turn off the grids in the visibility graphics and redraw (copy/paste) them in the model for the two buildings.

Thanks

Maybe I don't understand you correctly but it seems pretty simple to me. You can just turn the grid bubble off at that end by clicking the checked box to turn it off or on. That will turn the grids bubbles off on that end of the grid. Hope this help.

You should be able to control the visibility of the grids in the visibility settings 'by host view', check the 'custom' box in the RVT Link Display Settings then in the annotation tab change the pull down box to 'custom' and you should be able to hide the grids of the linked model.

Thanks for you advice. By changing the Visibility Graphics, Display Settings, and selecting "By Linked View" the bubbles appears just as they do in the linked model file.

I didn't see the forest because the tree got on my way.

Thanks again.
