Can anyone give me some advice on effectively manipulating site contours? I am creating a grading plan but find it very difficult to create the contours I need by moving the existing points (there never seems to be enough points along the contour to relocate the contour line properly) or by adding points at various elevations, any guidance would be appreciated, not much on this in the tutorials that I have found.

If you have Acad use it for your contours, draw plines, setting their elevations. Then import the acad drawing, and use the Toposurface use imported to generate your surface. Otherwise it is a struggle, especially if a point "disappears" and you can only find it by accidentally crossing the mouse over it and it highlights.....

It helped me to turn everything off except the contour lines and reference planes and then change to wireframe view (the usual hidden line view is difficult for contours). Then you see everything and it's pretty easy to move points around.
Also, the more closely the number of control points in each topo line matches the adjacent ones, the more predictable everything is.
Finally, you can change the display properties to display topos at larger increments to get started and then switch to finer increments to clean things up.
