When I use the SECTIONPLANE command, first and foremost it's a very laggy and time consuming command. Are there any settings that I can change to speed up the drawing time? Secondly, when I try to section my geometry of cabinets, if I do a 3D section, it draws the group of cabinets in order like I want, however it shows the entire cabinet rather than half or a "section" of it. When I draw 2D section it gives me the elevation only, and it's not a section either, its a normal elevation view. I've been trying to get this figured out for a few weeks now, it's important to be able to draw a plan section of a nursing station for drafting purposes. If anyone could help me walk through this issue, I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

PS- All I want to do is take my 3D drawings, and draw a plan section of all the cabinets. Showing the construction holes in the shelves, and wire chases. This should be simple! It's driving me mad

I'm able to correctly use the SECTIONPLANE command, however I want to do this in a seperate viewport so that I can still show my 3D drawing as it will be built. Can someone tell me what needs to be done in order to do this?

Have you tried the FLATSHOT command?

hi

from your images -- your section plan is off to one side of the model as indicated in your plan view-- take a look from your side view

from your top view your view arrows are pointing toward the side of cabinets

try setting up your section plane in the side view as 2 points then adjust the width and ht of the section plane -- then go to an isometric and set the display depth
