wall rail for stairs

i need a wal rail that is not connected to the stair. Should i make a family from a profile and have the wall as the host?

If possible, I would suggest using a railing with the floor as a host.

Can I have it curved, with more wall attachment points inbetween? (curved for top/bottom quarter)
