I'm in a situation where I have a local file on my laptop, central file on a server at the office. Can't get into the office tomorrow but I have some work I need to do. I can open the local file and get the error message that I can make changes but they may 'be lost' next time I synch with the central file.
I am currently the only one working on this project file (at least until the next time I get into the office)
As I understand it I have two options. I just need to know what is the safest approach.
1. Continue working on the local file and save it to my laptop. When i get into the office next time, save to central and all should be well (right?)
2. Save the local laptop file as a 'new' central file. Check out worksets to my hearts content. Do my work on that file and then copy it to the server next time I log into the office.
My local file is current with all worksets up to date and no worksets checked out.
My only concern is that i do the work ad it vanishes into thin air when I return to work.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
