Layout regens in 2004

Did anyone notice a marked slow down in layout regeneration in 2004?

I have a drawing that was created in 3.3. I saved a copy in 2004 format. 2004 is 3x to 5x slower in regenerating the layout tabs when switching between them. I can pull this same drawing up in 2005 and it is just as quick as R3.3.

Either 2004 is just slow in this regard or I'm missing a setting somewhere (Most likely that latter, I'm sure). I have my layout regen options set to cache model and last layout tab in all versions so that's not the issue. This is the LAYOUTREGENCTL sys. var. for you tech types :-)

Some further testing seems to indicate that it may indeed be a drawing setting that I'm missing. This is not a system wide problem, but is confined to drawings coming out of a single office.

The only holes in my drawing setting theory are a) I don't know of a drawing setting that could cause this, and b) these drawings work normally in 2005 (They also worked just fine in 3.3 prior to being saved in 2004).
