Anyone out there got a little routine to quickly solve the my-office-just-decided-to-change-fonts-and-I-don't-want-to-do-all-these-files-and-families-manually issue?
I know others have had to deal with this....

There's a few ways you could do that
1- Use a batch file (copy \\server\share\font1.ttf c:\windows\fonts). Run it through your logon script.
2- Make an msi package and using GPO

English Please? ;)
GPO? What's that? Some more detail please! I think he's asking how to update text in families in a batch fashion. I don't know of a way, except perhaps a journal? This could only work if your number of text styles and naming is identical in each family though.

I second that.
I'm not capable of doing what you mentioned. I just know it can be done easily by people more savvy than I since it's a simple repeat of the same steps for each file.....what I was really asking was if someone would share the scripts necessary if they've already done this for themselves.....

Oh ok, i thought the issue was about deploying the font. Well at least now you know why.
As for changing the font in the file you can use Transfer Project standards

Use Transfer Project Standards needs to be applied for all families, system families and annotations. And even then it's 'iffy' whether all label types would update or not.
I once converted a base template to one font, five text sizes (everything, from dimensions to room tags to sheets to...) and it took me all day. There's got to be a quicker way. One could rename the standard font to standard_revit_font, and when that changes simply swap out the font (with Revit closed).
This is going to cause troubles when sharing Revit-files with other companies, unless Revit defaults to a font when none is available. Never tried that much tho.

It defaults to Arial when a font is not found I'm pretty sure. We do need a way to have a "standard" text font, though that can be changed easily.

Delete the old ttf file and replace it by renaming the new font the old name. This is the fastest way, but it means the old font will be unavailable, and if you share the revit file, whoever gets it will see the old font. It also replaces the old font with the new one across all windows programs.
